Unless you somehow mastered telekinesis or one of your mutations gave you an extra set of hands, don't expect to carry all the little things from the Wasteland in your two hands. That's why bags and packs were made for. Work smarter, not harder!

Overview[]

These are areas reserved for storage of Items from the Wasteland. They show the amount of available slots for Items, and on most occasions, the total weight and/or limit of Items stored within them. Most items can be stacked, which is shown as a number at the lower right corner of the item. Gear, on the other hand, can not be stacked with the exception of throwable Weapons such as grenades.

Characters can increase the number of available slots by using Clan Storage Facilities and obtaining Vehicles. Vehicles can have up to 56 slots.[1]

To this day, there are a total of three locations that serve as inventories. These are the player pack, the Vehicle inventory, and the Vault.

Player Pack/Inventory[]

The main Inventory players will have access to. This is vital for your hoarding needs when you travel the Wasteland. Characters have a total of 64 inventory slots, which can not be increased over the rest of the game. If you open your inventory, all items will be organized in tabs by default, depending on the type of item you are storing.

As a remainder, although visually it is shown every item by category, all share the same space and limit of your inventory.

Aside from the maximum slots, you will also have to deal with the concept of weight. Each item has its own weight, and you do have a weight restriction. This restriction is located on the lower right of your inventory window. There is no such thing as being overweight, but you can not add Items to your inventory if said items equal of exceed your maximum weight. You can increased said limit by investing Advancement Points in the Strength skill (0.5kg per point).

Usually, a character will hit his weight limit before his slot limit. The developers have mentioned that this is unlikely to change.[2] As of Patch 2.6, since the deactivation of Clan Vaults, all weight limits have been doubled. That means you can carry double the weight shown (visual bug does not reflect the double).

Vehicle Inventory[]

This Inventory belongs to any vehicle generated in the Wasteland. They range from Mounts such as Horses, to Vehicles such as ATVs and Dune Buggies. Each one of these vehicles have their own, independent inventories, but have the same restriction in terms of maximum inventory slots and maximum weight limit. Horses have an overall of the lowest amount of slots, while Dune Buggies have an overall of the highest amount of slots.

As of Patch 2.6, since the deactivation of Clan Vaults, all weight limits have been doubled. That means you can carry double the weight shown (visual bug does not reflect the double).

Since every vehicle has its own inventory, and the fact that you can have both Mounts and Vehicles "parked", they can be used as portable Inventories. You could use a Horse or Garage manager to tow certain vehicles to cities, and have a better inventory management overall.

Vaults[]

The sacred place where your precious Items are stored, free of charge. Vaults have a total of 64 Inventory slots, but they can be increased by certain items. There are a total of four different Vaults, each one with its own storage. As they are all connected globally, there should not be a fear of losing said items. The problem relies that not all towns and cities have the same type of vaults, meaning that you will need to determine which items have the highest probability of use, and leave the rest on lesser existant vaults.

Also, some player-made buildings such as the ones in Progress Town, Camps or Fams have Vault, free of use.

Clan Vaults[]

Originally, by being part of a Clan and depending on the permissions of it, you could access a Clan Vault as a tab when having a Vault window open. These type of Vaults worked the same as a normal Vault, with the difference that anyone in the Clan can see, and potentially, deposit or retrieve Items from it. You could also deposit Chips on it, that other Clan members could retrieve. All of this was controlled with Clan Permissions.

Unfortunately, a bug was introduced that allowed Item duplication with the use of Clan Vaults. This disrupted the local economy and heavily impacted the game stability overall. As of Patch 2.6, they have been disabled and can no longer be interacted with.
