As far as I've seen, most Fallen Earth players have either played other MMO RPGs in the past or play some concurrently with FE. It sounds like a good match for our wiki site, and could draw more players into trying out Fallen Earth. I'm in favor of the idea.
I happened to be swinging through and wanted to offer my services in sprucing up the main page. If you're interested, I can flesh it out a little more, including making things a little more snazzy by using images rather than a collection of links ;) I generally attempt to stick with the theme already present. I also noticed the box on the right side tends to cut off, so I can fix that as well.
Hey there. I've started picking up the game every little while again. Decided I'd focus a bit more on the maps for the various regions.
The Plateau sector maps seems to still be fairly accurate, so I'm going to continue on the counties in Northfields. I'm about 80% done with Union Plains, then I'll probably work on getting Windshift Watch or the Northern Expanse mapped out. There's a lot of empty space in the counties, so it takes awhile to complete one.
I went ahead and re-added the item fields to this template. This is used in queries by the Item template. Basically, it allows an item page to look up which NPCs sell said item and displays them on the item page. Refine_Steel_Instructions is a good example of how this displays.
No need to force resaves on all NPC merchants and trainers. The site will eventually do that silently ater a couple days.
Thanks for catching and fixing this, Kindragon. After I finished the half-completed project of dropping the "Item: " prefix, I went about eradicating the prefixes inclusion in the templates.
I could not see how that particular change would create the problem, and simply went ahead with it. I'm glad you took the time to sort it out. Thanks a bunch. I think that function is pretty important to our item pages.
On one hand, NPC: Cindy Loom is a seasonal event-based character who will likely disappear once the season has ended. On the other hand, this is exactly the kind of timely information the wiki needs. Once the event has concluded, the pages can be annotated to indicate they were used during the 2013 Christmas event.
We have a similar situation with Mutation: Annie Hall. The linked page is used as a disambiguation page leading to several, distinct location-based pages for this character. I think something similar could be used in this case.
I would love to assist you, as well. Feel at liberty to provide guidance where you can, when you can. I think it is important for the wiki to maintain continuity with its past as it endeavors to move forward. Thanks for touching base with us.
