So, where to begin...? It is the duty of the Caretakers to take care of what remains and repair what has been damaged in the world. We frown on those who would cause more damage to the environment, and we seek to explain to them our concerns.

Of course, many refuse to listen... especially the Techs. But we do our best. We also do our best to bring our knowledge to other settlements. Many of us spend much of our time traveling the settled lands and helping those in need. We work closely with the agriculturalists in our society... seeking new ways to produce safe and bountiful crops.

In the past...before the Fall, the earth was over-worked until nutrients were stripped from the soil. Harsh chemicals and pesticides were used that contaminated the land and the food people ate. We have another chance now, to rebuild the world and to get things right this time. If we are smart and careful we can avoid the mistakes that our ancestors made
